Continuance is a quarterly magazine that promotes new ways to consider issues relevant to education and how different generations of employees engage with the workforce in Illinois. Since 1987, the publication has sought to address these issues with a transparent line of communication and creative processes to highlight how older generations can contribute and be economic resources. Currently published by Generations Serving Generations (GSG), the magazine has grown from a four-page newsletter to a full-fledged magazine.
With its Winter/Spring 2018 issue, Continuance includes Illinois workNet in their Partnerships across Generations series and notes that this resource "has met the demands of an ever-changing state economic and workforce climate." As technology advances, the workforce will have to adapt. Illinois workNet provides the latest and forthcoming technologies and resources to assist job seekers, employees, and employers with their goals. In addition, Illinois workNet encourages communication between state agencies, educational institutions, businesses and other entities associated with the workforce or promotion of specific job-related skills. Staying updated on what is currently happening in your area of work is important, and with a user-friendly setup the workNet portal allows partners and users to navigate with ease to the resources that are relevant to them.
As a partner, you want to make sure you can provide the best possible services to your customers. This is true no matter what kind of services you offer, but it is especially true for education providers. Continuance is a great resource for partners. If you are going to be serving your customers effectively, you will need to stay on top of trends and happenings in the workforce. While workNet offers similar resources, Continuance is a great supplement to your work.
