Retired Teachers - Whats Next?

Add to Calendar 4:00 PM 4/22/20196:00 PM America/Chicago Retired Teachers - Whats Next?

How do you know if this class if for you?

Quick quiz: In the late 1990's, COLLABORATION was called....COOPERATIVE LEARNING. Have you taught through no standards, then NLCB and now ESSA? Do you have your first year student's own child in your class? If you answered yes to any of these questions, this class is for you.

Designed for teachers with over 20 years experience, this class will target the skills, talents and experiences of veteran teachers while exploring "what's next?" A pre-assessment will determine the class content. Participants will meet for 8 hours face-to-face and then 7 hours will be on readings, individual projects, collaboration, reflection and implementation of new ideas. (or, recycled ideas!)

Taught by veteran teacher, Dr. Diane Wolf, you will laugh and learn with others that have had some of the same life experiences. In D87, our teachers with over 20 years experience have an unique view of education and we want to honor that while also depending on them for leadership, exceptional teaching practices and more.....

Teachers can elect to receive a $300 stipend or 1 hour of D87 credit towards the salary schedule. If you are in your last four years, you can still join us! Just sign up and we will work out the details individually.

This interactive, practical class is part of D87's vision statement to, "promote mutual respect, an appreciation for student and staff diversity, and the importance of family and community engagement in order to provide a supportive learning environment in which students can succeed."

Registration is limited to 30 people and will meet on October 15, December 3, February 11 and April 22 from 4:00-6:00 at ESC. Light refreshments will be served.
