Realizing Goals are Possible
Shana enrolled in classes at Heartland Community College shortly after seeking services from the Livingston Workforce Services. At the young age of 20 years old, she had her high school diploma but was working for a marginal wage at a local fast food restaurant. She had intentions of becoming a medical assistant, but was unsure of how to go about it. With the help of Workforce Services staff, she completed the Clinical Medical Assistant program at HCC and was soon employed at Dermatology and Mohs Surgical Institute, making $4.00 more per hour than at her previous position.
