Program Details

My name is Daishonda Jenkins, and I have a story about how I became successful in my journey. I wanted to become an 18-wheeler truck driver and start my own business. My friend, Krystion, referred me to the program she worked for called the Illinois Youth Investment Program (IYIP), where they help with educational training for CDL licenses. I linked up with a great case manager, Ms. Lawson, who enrolled me in the program and assisted me with the information I needed. She sent me to the Driving Academy 160, where I took a five-week course to get my license. I received my CDL license on 11/28/2023, then gained employment driving for Hogan Personenel LLC. It has been a blessing for me to have people who care about the community. Soon, I will start my own business.
