Energy Auditors - Working Conditions

In a typical work setting, energy auditors:

Interpersonal Relationships

  • Have a medium to high level of contact with others during the day.
  • Communicate with others by phone, e-mail, and in person daily. They also occasionally write letters and memos.
  • Work as part of a team and are somewhat responsible for the work done by others.

Physical Work Conditions

  • Work both indoors and outdoors when performing audits.
  • Often travel to work sites in a car, truck, or van.
  • Are occasionally exposed to sound and noise levels that are distracting.
  • Usually work near others in a shared office space or within a few feet.

  • Sometimes work in extremely bright or inadequate lighting.
  • Are sometimes exposed to contaminants.

Work Performance

  • Must be very exact and accurate when analyzing data and submitting recommendations.
  • Repeat the same mental and physical tasks.
  • Usually set their daily tasks and goals for the day, but they may check in with a supervisor first.
  • Often make decisions that impact others, usually after consulting a supervisor.

Hours/Travel
