Program Description

This course is designed for adults, with or without disabilities, who desire to advance their Microsoft Office skills and computer literacy skills for the purpose of seeking employment or further education. Instruction includes personal computer and workstation operation, word processing, spreadsheet, databases and internet and email. This course is an excellent foundation for computer skills and practical experience in Microsoft Office - with assistive technology as required by individual. These skills are needed to work independently in an office or business setting.

Application Procedure

Prospective students will have an intake evaluation to be scheduled upon calling Donka and scheduling with the program manager. Each student undergoes and initial evaluation with an instructor to determine his/her skill level with a computer and needed assistive technology to be successful. If prospective student is referred by WIOA intake coordinator, Donka may ask to review background information that includes recent vocational evaluations, and academic and psychological records. Applicants must have Adequate emotional and mental health for participating an a classroom setting where success depends of self-discipline and personal initiative; the atmosphere is similar to that of a working office. Adequate physical health for participating in a 1.5 to 2 hour of sustained classroom instruction.

  • Language - English Proficient
  • Writing - 6th Grade minimum
