Last Re-Certification Date: 6/28/2022
Next Re-Certification Date: 7/4/2024

Program Description

Python is one of the most popular programming languages. This program explores complex and applied areas of Python. Students will learn how to use this knowledge to work with data structures, develop custom scripts, GUI applications, and portable exe programs. Secondly, with the growth of smart devices and the huge data they generate, plus the ability of computers to digest and learn from this data, Big Data Analytics has become a critical area of focus for most businesses. In the Predictive Analytics Using Big Data course, students will learn about predictive models that create business value from Big Data solutions, the technology (databases, query languages, architectures), and statistical techniques of Big Data Analytics. Third, R programs are used by statisticians and data miners to facilitate data analysis and visualization, and help build predictive models. Students will study this open source language and software environment for statistical computing and graphics. Students will learn how to define a predictive modeling problem to study; learn R commands for data analysis, program a real-time predictive tool, and apply their approach to different predictive problems as part of class projects. Fourth, learn how to keep accurate and current records about business financial activities with Microsoft Excel, the most widely used spreadsheet software application. Prepare for the MOS Excel certification with four Excel classes and a test preparation software tool, which simulates the actual exam or a self-paced Excel Digital Badge program hosted by LERN. This program helps students prepare for the MOS Excel certification exam.
