Program Description

The 240-hour CDL A license course meets all Illinois requirements of 160 training hours plus 80 additional hours. Includes pre-trip inspections, yard skills practice, highway driving, road tests, in addition to advanced trip planning, logs/other documentation, plus advanced cargo handling and shipping. Students can obtain doubles and triples and tanker endorsements. To enroll in this course you must be pre-approved.

Application Procedure

3WIOA and TAA students need to contact the Harper College Workforce Coordinator at (847) 925-6782 or WIOA@harpercollege.edu. A separate book voucher is required for Follett Bookstore #1341 on campus. Books can be ship if requested for a small fee. Each semester, all Cook County WIOA sending agency case managers must supply the Harper College Workforce Coordinator with a Semester Training Schedule Approval Form that lists the courses the client will be taking that semester, and this must match the client's Harper Educational Plan.4 The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $5,000.
