Program Description

This program is uniquely designed for each student to develop exceptional skills in the field of dental assisting. All training takes place in a functional training facility and each student will receive hands on training for real world clinical experiences. Our instructors have extensive experience in the field of dentistry and a combined goal to provide each student with the highest standards in dental education. Our objective is to provide the student with basic dental knowledge and the experience to facilitate their career in dentsitry. Upon completion of the course each student will receive extensive training in sterilization and safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials, basic dental anatomy and general four handed chair-side assisting. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Labor Statistics, the medium hourly earnings of dental assists is about $14.53. The middle 50 percent earn between $11.94 and $17.44 an hour. The lowest 10 percent earn less than $9.87, and the highest 10 percent earn more than $20.69 an hour. Benefits vary substancially by practice setting and may be contingent upon full-time employment. According to the American Dental Association, 87 percent of dentists offer reimbursement for continuing education courses taken by their assistants. Dental Assistants hold about $280,000 jobs in the United States. Almost all jobs for dental assistants are in offices of dentists. A small number of jobs are in the Federal, State, and local governments or in offices of physicians. About 35 percent of dental assistants work part-time, sometimes in more than one dental office. Employment is expected to grow 29 percent from 2006 to 2016. Which is much faster than the average for all occupations.
