Program Description

This 32 credit-hour certificate program is designed to give students advanced knowledge and skills in welding. The program of study will emphasize advanced welding theory and practical application of the major forms of welding. Students will learn to interpret welding blueprints and develop the skills necessary to pass welder qualification tests. Students will meet AWS Sense (School Excelling Through National Skill Standards Education) training standards for certification as an AWS Level II Advanced Welder.

Application Procedure

3WIOA and TAA students need to contact the Harper College Workforce Coordinator at (847) 925-6782 or WIOA@harpercollege.edu. A separate book voucher is required for Follett Bookstore #1341 on campus. Books can be ship if requested for a small fee. Each semester, all Cook County WIOA sending agency case managers must supply the Harper College Workforce Coordinator with a Semester Training Schedule Approval Form that lists the courses the client will be taking that semester, and this must match the client's Harper Educational Plan.4 The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $8,000.

  • Language - Instruction is in English
  • Writing - Per required compass cut-off scores
  • Other - All credit-seeking WIOA clients must have initial & ongoing academic advising
