Program Description

This 32 credit-hour certificate program is designed to give students advanced knowledge and skills in welding. The program of study will emphasize advanced welding theory and practical application of the major forms of welding. Students will learn to interpret welding blueprints and develop the skills necessary to pass welder qualification tests. Students will meet AWS Sense (School Excelling Through National Skill Standards Education) training standards for certification as an AWS Level II Advanced Welder.

Must contact Diane Carter-Zubko at 847-758-23721 when approved to pursue program at Harper. Student must apply to Harper College www.harpercollege.edu. Pay $25 application fee or obtain fee waiver code from Diane Carter-Zubko at 847-758-2372. Student will be directed to appropriate Harper College Academic Advisor for educational plan. The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $8,000.

  • HS Diploma/GED
  • Language - Instruction is in English
  • Writing - Per required compass cut-off scores
  • Other - All credit-seeking WIOA clients must have initial & ongoing academic advising
