Program Description
This 6-credit hour certificate program is intended to meet the needs of men and women in public safety dispatching roles at the local, state and federal levels and to prepare others to enter the public safety dispatcher career field. This certificate program meets the requirements of the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board (ILETSB) Public Safety Dispatcher minimum standards, Association of Police Communications Officers (APCO) Project 25 Public Safety Dispatcher minimum standards, and the National Fire Protection Association of NFPA 1061 Public Safety Dispatcher job requirements.

Application Procedure
3WIOA and TAA students need to contact the Harper College Workforce Coordinator at (847) 925-6782 or WIOA@harpercollege.edu. A separate book voucher is required for Follett Bookstore #1341 on campus. Books can be ship if requested for a small fee. Each semester, all Cook County WIOA sending agency case managers must supply the Harper College Workforce Coordinator with a Semester Training Schedule Approval Form that lists the courses the client will be taking that semester, and this must match the client's Harper Educational Plan.4 The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $3,000.
