Program Description

Develop the skills needed to begin a career as a network support technician with this 12-credit-hour certificate program. Get hands-on experience installing, configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting basic network infrastructure. This program will prepare you to take the CompTIA IT Fundamentals, A+ and Network+ certification exams. You'll also qualify for entry-level jobs as a network support technician. Classes include IT fundamentals, A+ hardware, A+ operating systems technologies and computer networking. All courses are taught by multidisciplinary faculty who are experts in their fields. Many courses are offered online or in blended formats, giving you added flexibility. Harper College features three large open computer labs that are staffed with certified IT Student Support Assistants who can assist with select coursework. This certificate is stackable towards as associate's degree in information technology at Harper.

Application Procedure

3WIOA and TAA students need to contact the Harper College Workforce Coordinator at (847) 925-6782 or WIOA@harpercollege.edu. A separate book voucher is required for Follett Bookstore #1341 on campus. Books can be ship if requested for a small fee. Each semester, all Cook County WIOA sending agency case managers must supply the Harper College Workforce Coordinator with a Semester Training Schedule Approval Form that lists the courses the client will be taking that semester, and this must match the client's Harper Educational Plan.4 The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $5,000.
