Program Description
Prepare for a career in welding technology with this 60 credit hour degree program. Welding and fabrication are fast-growing fields, and individuals with skills in these areas are in high demand among employers. When you graduate from this program, you will be prepared to secure full-time employment as a welder, fabricator or welder supervisor in the manufacturing or construction industry. Take classes in welding, prints and schematics, advanced blueprint reading, cutting processes, welding fabrication, applied welding theory, welding power sources, and more. You'll also complete a variety of technical elective courses. All courses are taught by knowledgeable instructors who are high skilled in the welding and fabrication fields. Additionally, completion of this program allows you to sit for the "Fundamentals of Metal Fabrication Certificate" through the Fabricators and Manufactures Association (FMA) for an additional fee.

Application Procedure
3WIOA and TAA students need to contact the Harper College Workforce Coordinator at (847) 925-6782 or WIOA@harpercollege.edu. A separate book voucher is required for Follett Bookstore #1341 on campus. Books can be ship if requested for a small fee. Each semester, all Cook County WIOA sending agency case managers must supply the Harper College Workforce Coordinator with a Semester Training Schedule Approval Form that lists the courses the client will be taking that semester, and this must match the client's Harper Educational Plan.4 The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $8,000.
