Program Description

Take the first step toward a successful career in web design and interactive media by completing this 27-credit-hour certificate program. Learn the technology behind todays Internet and website design protocols by producing professional communications and innovative interactive web solutions. Youll also develop an understanding of the technical aspects of interactive web design. This is an ideal program for individuals interested in pursuing a career in web design/interactive media, or for people whose current jobs have expanded to include website responsibilities. Classes include WordPress and mobile technologies, Internet fundamentals, web foundations, web graphics and prototyping, web multimedia, web authoring tools, web scripting foundations, web accessibility and interactive scripting. Youll get hands-on experience using the latest web design programs. All courses are led by skilled instructors who are experts in the areas of web design and multimedia. This program is available in an accelerated Fast Track format, giving you added flexibility. Courses meet once or twice per week, depending on the cohort grid. Employers in virtually every industry routinely look to hire individuals skilled in the areas of web design and interactive media. After graduating from this program, youll be well-prepared to seek an entry-level position in this field.

Application Procedure

WIOA and TAA students need to contact the Harper College Workforce Coordinator at (847) 925-6782 or WIOA@harpercollege.edu. A separate book voucher is required for Follett Bookstore #1341 on campus. Books can be shipped if requested for a small fee. Each semester, all Cook County WIOA sending agency case managers must supply the Harper College Workforce Coordinator with a Semester Training Schedule Approval Form that lists the courses the client will be taking that semester, and this must match the client's Harper Educational Plan.4 The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $8,000.

  • Prerequisites - Laptop or Desktop computer capable of running required software
