Program Description

Build a foundation of skills in visual design, website scripting and interactive applications with this 30-credit-hour certificate program. Coursework includes an introduction to graphic arts technology, graphic arts desktop publishing, digital imaging, graphic design, WordPress and mobile technologies, web foundations, web graphics and prototyping, web multimedia, web scripting foundations and interactive scripting. Get additional experience working in one of Harper Colleges three state-of- the-art graphic arts labs, which are equipped with Mac computers and the latest creative software. On-site printing presses give you hands-on experience in all areas of graphic arts production. Classes are led by knowledgeable instructors who are industry experts in their fields. Ideal for students interested in pursuing careers in graphic design, web design and interactive multimedia design, this program will allow you to seek full-time employment in the graphic arts interactive technology field after graduation.

Application Procedure

WIOA and TAA students need to contact the Harper College Workforce Coordinator at (847) 925-6782 or WIOA@harpercollege.edu. A separate book voucher is required for Follett Bookstore #1341 on campus. Books can be shipped if requested for a small fee. Each semester, all Cook County WIOA sending agency case managers must supply the Harper College Workforce Coordinator with a Semester Training Schedule Approval Form that lists the courses the client will be taking that semester, and this must match the client's Harper Educational Plan. The maximum tuition and fees amount approved for this occupation is $8,000.

  • Prerequisites - All credit-seeking WIOA clients must have initial & ongoing academic advising
