May’s WIOA Title IB Quarterly Performance Office Hours will provide an overview of the WIOA Title I performance proposals in the U.S. Congress drafted A Stronger Workforce for America Act (ASWA). The U.S. House of Representatives passed this reauthorization of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act bill on April 9, 2024, following a House Committee on Education and the Workforce report. It is now with the U.S. Senate for consideration.

A review of the information shared at the 2024 WIOA Summit on WIOA Title I Follow-Up Services will be provided so those unable to attend the in-person session can hear the new and clarified guidance received from USDOL, Region 5. The Office of Employment and Training (OET) Performance and Reporting Unit will also provide a high-level overview of the upcoming Program Year 2024-2025 state and local negotiations process and forthcoming policy changes.

After attending this webinar, attendees will be able to:

Participants will hear the bipartisan support discussed in Congress around performance indicators, negotiation process, state and local sanctions, and additional reporting requirements. While only in the initial stages of the process, President Biden is interested in sending this for signing into law before the end of the calendar year. In the interest of promoting discussion by the Local Workforce Innovation Boards and WIOA Title IB administrators, the OET Performance and Reporting Unit wants to inform its stakeholders as the bill is being considered by the U.S. Senate. Attendees will also better understand WIOA Title I Follow-Up Services through guidance provided by USDOL and get a start on local negotiations with a general overview of what to expect in the coming months.
